The night at my friend's apartment that ruined fast-forwarding for me
Honestly, I was at my friend Jenna's place last Friday and she wanted to show me a new show on her streaming service. She kept hitting the skip intro button but it would skip like 3 minutes into the episode instead of just the credits. I asked her what was up and she said she accidentally changed the skip duration in the settings 6 months ago and never fixed it. Now every time I watch something at home I keep thinking about how wrong a 3 minute skip feels. Has anyone else messed up their streaming settings and been too lazy to change them back?

Accidentally changed the skip duration in the settings 6 months ago" is the most relatable thing I've heard in a while. I read somewhere that most people just learn to live with wrong settings because fixing them takes too long. That checks out with my whole life.

Is it bad that I used to judge people for stuff like this? Like I'd think "how hard is it to just go into settings and fix it." But last month I realized my YouTube is set to 1.25x speed and I have no idea when that happened. I just... got used to it. Now people sound slow to me at normal speed and I can't go back. So yeah, you're probably right. Most of us just adapt instead of actually fixing the problem.
