Was totally skeptical about The Bear for like 2 years... finally caved
Kept seeing everyone rave about The Bear on Hulu and I was like nah, it's just another stressful kitchen show. But my buddy at work wouldn't shut up about it so I gave it a shot last month. The scene in episode 7 of season 1 where everything goes sideways in like 18 minutes straight had me genuinely stressed out. Did anyone else find the first few episodes hard to get into until that moment?

For the first few episodes I was literally scrolling my phone thinking ok whats the big deal. Then that episode hit and I was glued to the screen with my mouth open the whole time. That 18 minute chaos sequence is pure anxiety in the best way possible. It really sets the tone for why this show works so well. Ever since that moment I have been completely hooked and binged the whole thing in a week. Richie is still annoying though, cant stand that guy.

That 18 minute episode is definitely the moment the show hooks you, but I actually think Richie is one of the best parts. I know he's loud and annoying on purpose but the way he cares about the restaurant hierarchy and traditions makes him way more interesting than a "normal" character would be. Episode 7 is pure chaos magic though, no argument there.
