Paid $80 for a used treadle hammer, best money I've spent in the shop
Picked up a beat up treadle hammer at a farm auction last fall for $80 and it took me two weekends to clean and rig it back up. That little thing has saved my arms on all the detail work since, has anyone else scored old hand tools that just won't quit?

Ever think a $5 rust bucket could beat a new tool? I used to write off old beat up stuff like that, figured it was just someone else's junk that would break in a week. Then I grabbed a 1930s Blacker hammer head at a flea market for $12, threw a handle on it, and it has outlasted two fancy hammers I bought new. So yeah, I was wrong about cheap old iron.
