Twenty years of twisting leaves the same way, until a kid at a demo in Tulsa set me straight
I always twisted the scroll inward on the left side of my scrolls, figured it was just how it was done, then this apprentice at a weekend demo pointed out I was fighting the grain every single time and showed me his piece curled cleaner in half the passes, anyone else have a basic move they never questioned until someone younger spoke up?

Did he break down the grain direction for ya or just show you a cleaner roll?
