Chat with my dad about my 2009 point and shoot changed how I edit everything
He said I was overthinking it, just bump the ISO and lean on the camera's auto mode instead of fussing with manual dials for 10 minutes. Tried it at my sister's wedding last Saturday and yeah, the shots came out way cleaner than my usual grainy mess. Anyone else get humbled by an old timer's simple advice?

Three years ago I wouldve told you that manual mode was the only real way to shoot. I spent so much time dialing in shutter speed and aperture that I missed half the moments at my own brothers engagement party. Then my uncle just laughed and said the camera knows what its doing better than I do, and honestly he was right. Now I let auto handle the tricky stuff and only touch manual when I have time to think. Its like the camera does the heavy lifting and I just make sure the composition is worth the shot.

I read somewhere that even professional photographers use auto or priority modes most of the time now. The whole manual-only thing feels like this weird gatekeeping phase everyone goes through. Do you find yourself second-guessing shots less now that you're not fiddling with settings?
