Heard a guy at my Tuesday game night say "theme doesn't matter anymore" and I can't let it go
I was packing up after our 5 player game of Wingspan at the shop on Grand Ave and this regular named Dave told the table he only buys games now if they fit a 45 minute time slot, theme be damned. He said our group has turned into a spreadsheet club where everyone ranks games by weight instead of whether we actually had fun, and honestly 3 other people nodded along. So my real worry is this, are we losing the people who just want to roll dice and laugh, or is tight and quick the only way any of us can get games to the table these days?
