I finally tried a heavy euro game after years of light party stuff
I've been playing stuff like Codenames and Wavelength for like 5 years with my group, but last weekend one guy brought out Brass Birmingham and I was terrified. Three hours later I was totally hooked on the resource management and the way every move mattered. Anybody else make the switch from casual to heavy and actually enjoy it more?

Food Chain Magnate is brutal. One bad hire and your whole game is shot. That kind of pressure is way more fun than I thought it'd be.

Used to think heavy games were just for snobs who wanted to feel smarter than everyone else. That changed real quick when a buddy forced me to play Food Chain Magnate. Got totally lost in the strategy and how one bad decision could tank your whole plan. It's just way more satisfying when you actually have to think ahead and manage stuff instead of just guessing what someone drew on a card. Party games are still fun for warming up but they feel empty now compared to the real decisions in a heavy game.

That's exactly the kind of condescending attitude that makes people hate board games.
