Vent: the guy who timed my turns at GameHaven last Saturday

I was at GameHaven in Austin playing a 4 player game of Terraforming Mars, and this random guy walks over to watch. After my third turn he pulls out his phone and says my turn took 6 minutes and 20 seconds, like that's some kind of crime. He then starts giving me tips on how to plan my cards faster, talking to me like I was holding up a tournament, not a casual Saturday game. I told him I play to think, not to speedrun, and he just shrugged and walked off. Has anyone else had a spectator criticize their pace mid-game? How do you shut that down without killing the mood?

Honestly feel for you on this one. Terraforming Mars is a thinking game, and nobody should be clocking you on a Saturday afternoon. That guy was way out of line, and I hope he doesn't ruin your next visit.

Why do people think watching gives them a right to coach? Dude was just bored and wanted to feel important. Ignore him and keep taking your sweet time.
