Pro tip: a 30-year hand told me to stop grinding my tacks out before the root goes in
He watched me for 10 minutes at the rail job in Gary last month and said to leave the tacks alone, since chasing them with a grinder just thins the wall, so now I only feather the ones the cap will cover and I ask if anyone else got taught to knock every tack down flat first.
