Shoutout to that guy who sold me a faulty pressure gauge for $60
I hooked it up wrong because the threads were stripped and blew a seal on a 200 psi hydrotest last Tuesday, anyone else get burned by cheap gear from marketplace?

Bought a "like new" drill press from a guy on Craigslist once, turned out the chuck was warped and the table wobbled a good quarter inch. Learned my lesson about testing stuff before handing over cash, especially for anything that needs to hold pressure or spin fast.

Tossed a carpenters square in my bag and caught a bent arbor before buying.

Bring a straight edge and a square with you next time. I always toss a level and a couple of clamps in the truck before I go look at any used tool. Test the chuck by chucking up a short piece of round stock and spin it by hand, you can feel a wobble right away. Put the straight edge across the table and check for gaps too, that table wobble is a deal breaker. For a drill press, I'd also run it through its full speed range and listen for any grinding sounds from the bearings. Saved me from buying a total lemon more than once.
