Watch the wind on a 60 foot stack, learned that one in Gary
Was rigging a section on a 60 foot stack outside Gary, Indiana last spring. A gust caught the load and it swung back hard, pinned a tag line right against the scaffold. Nobody got hurt but it was close enough that our crew now checks wind speed every hour with a handheld gauge, not just eyeballing it. If you are working tall sections in open ground, are you actually measuring the gusts or just going by feel?
