Half our book club quit over a map in a fantasy novel, wild

We spent 45 minutes arguing about whether the river flowed north in chapter 12 and three people said the author messed up, but the map in the paperback printing was actually flipped compared to the hardcover, has anyone else had a printing error wreck a whole discussion?
