Honestly, our book club in Portland almost split over whether the main character in 'The Silent Patient' was really crazy or just smart, back in 2019.

What was the book about? I've seen book clubs fall apart over the dumbest things. Like, one group nearly ended over whether a character's choice was brave or just selfish. Another time, people got really mad about the pacing in a mystery novel. It gets personal fast.

Book clubs need a rule where you can't take it personally, lol. @laura_allen's friend's group should try that. Just agree to disagree and move on.
