I voted against reading Klara and the Sun, then a lady named Doreen at the Fargo library changed my mind in 10 minutes
Our group picked Klara and the Sun by Ishiguro and I was the loud one saying no, I don't do robot narrators. At the meeting at the Fargo public library on a Tuesday, Doreen waited till I finished and just asked if I ever had a friend who gave and gave and got nothing back. That one line got me, because my oldest buddy drifted off like that and I guess I never let myself think about it. We read it and I was the one who talked the longest, funny how that works. Did anyone else get talked into a book by one weird comment instead of the actual pitch?
