Our book club nearly split over a 4-3 vote on Lessons in Chemistry, and I figured out why
Last Tuesday at Diane's place in Sacramento, we had our worst meeting in two years over Lessons in Chemistry. Four of us loved it, three of us thought the science parts felt fake, and people stopped talking about the book and started talking about each other. What helped was going around the circle and having each person name one specific scene they liked or disliked, no big speeches (took about 20 minutes total). Anyone else find that tight rules on how we share saves your club from blowing up?
