Rant: Our group got into it over the brother in 'The Dutch House'

At our last meetup, we talked about the novel and how the main guy always stood by his sister. Some people thought he was weak for not speaking up more. Others felt family loyalty is key, so he was right to support her. I can't decide, and it led to a really loud discussion! What's your take on this?

Yeah, family loyalty is huge, but sometimes staying quiet can hurt more than help, you know? Like, he might have been trying to protect her, but it could come off as passive.
