Visited the new library downtown and I'm not impressed

Went to the new public library on Main Street last Saturday and the layout is terrible - the fiction section is shoved in the back corner behind the bathrooms. Am I the only one who thinks they prioritized the coffee shop over actual books?

Wait, they put the books behind the bathrooms? That's genuinely baffling, what were they thinking with that layout?

Is it a thing now where librarians are just picking spots with a dartboard or something? My library did something similar - they put the whole computer section right next to the kids' story time area. Trying to concentrate on email with 30 kids singing the ABC song is impossible. I'm not saying I could do a better job laying out a library, but maybe ask somebody who actually uses it first?

RIGHT? Same thing at my local library. They put the new releases right behind the children's reading area. Constant noise and screaming kids while you're trying to browse. Who plans this stuff
