My 20 year old bone folder still beats my new one

I picked up a fancy new bone folder at a shop in Portland last spring, figured it was time to retire the one my grandfather gave me. Turns out the old one has a worn edge that just glides through creases on 130gsm paper, the new one catches and leaves marks. I went back to the old one after about 5 projects and now the new one just sits in the drawer. Has anyone else had luck breaking in a new folder, or is it just me stuck in my ways?
