The guy at the bindery supply shop told me to use PVA instead of wheat paste for leather hinges and I spent 3 weeks fixing warped boards after ignoring him

Has anyone else had PVA mess up their leather work or was I just using the wrong kind?

Three weeks of fixing warped boards sounds like a rough lesson. What kind of PVA did you use, the standard bookbinder's stuff or something like Titebond? I've found the wrong formulation can really mess with leather's moisture uptake compared to wheat paste.

Wait Titebond is a type of PVA? Since when?
