This adhesive warping my book covers is driving me crazy!
I hate when the glue dries unevenly and ruins the surface.

I had a textbook from 2010 that did the same thing. Tbh, after a while I just stopped noticing it since the pages still read fine. Unless it's a collectible, a little warp isn't the end of the world. Just put a heavy book on top overnight to flatten it.

Yeah, the heavy book trick is solid. I used a big old dictionary on my warped paperback for a couple days and it worked like a charm. If it's really stubborn, you can slide it under a full bookcase shelf or even a flat laptop case with some weight in it. Most of the time it's just from humidity and it'll chill out.

My paperback of 'The Hobbit' from 1998 was so warped it wouldn't close. I always thought once a book bent, it was stuck like that for good. But after seeing @cameronf88's tip about using a dictionary, I gave it a shot. I left my calculus textbook under a stack of encyclopedias for three days, and it came out flat as a board. Now I don't worry about humidity messing up my books, just put something heavy on top overnight.
