Appreciation post for people who actually label their plant cuttings
I picked up a bunch of tradescantia cuttings from a local swap last Saturday and half of them were just labeled 'green plant' so now I'm stuck trying to figure out what's what. Meanwhile one person had everything labeled with species and care instructions and it saved me so much time. Why do so many people skip the labels at plant swaps?

Is it possible some people are worried about looking like they don't know what they're talking about if they label something wrong? I've seen a few swaps where someone labeled a philodendron as a pothos and got grilled about it in the comments later. Plus, idk, maybe they think the cuttings are obvious to everyone else and don't want to seem like they're over explaining something basic. But seriously, a sticky note with "needs bright light" is way better than just "green plant" and saves everyone the hassle.

Read a blog post saying half the swaps have mystery plants. Agree with @davis.adam, just label it.

Grab a few blank sticky notes and a sharpie before you head to any swap. I've been doing this for years and trust me, a quick label like "medium indirect light, water when dry" or even just "sorry, forgot the name but it's a trailing something" stops so much confusion. Last swap I hit, someone brought in a bunch of cuttings that all looked like philodendron Brasil but the stems were totally different - without tags, half of them probably would have gone home to the wrong pots. It's not about being a plant expert, it's about saving yourself and the next person the headache of trying to google a photo of a half dead leaf later.
