Just saw a weird moss thing at the state park
I was hiking in Silver Falls State Park yesterday and noticed this bright green moss growing on the north side of a big Douglas fir. It looked like a tiny forest all by itself, with little stalks that held up these tiny spore capsules. I got real close and saw they were only about 2 millimeters tall. It made me wonder how many other tiny plant worlds I walk right past. Has anyone else found cool moss or lichen spots on their hikes?

Wow, I feel the same way about missing those tiny hidden worlds.

But we're the ones who stopped looking for them, right?

Used to think that was silly, but honestly this post just changed my mind.
