My neighbor's method for germinating lavender seeds blew my old way out of the water.
I used to just sprinkle them on soil and got maybe 10% to sprout, but she does a 30-day cold stratification in her fridge first. Anyone have a different plant that needs this trick?

Wait, does that work for echinacea too? I mean, I tried the fridge trick with some poppy seeds last year and it was wild how many came up.

That cold stratification trick is a game changer for sure. My rosemary seeds never did anything until I tried the fridge method. Some plants just need that winter simulation to get going.

I always thought the fridge thing was just for fancy gardeners. Then I tried it with some lavender seeds last spring. I left them in a damp paper towel for three weeks, and the germination rate was crazy, like 80 percent. Totally changed how I start all my hardy herbs now.
