My pothos in leca vs. soil: one is thriving, one is barely hanging on after 3 months
I moved two golden pothos cuttings to different setups 3 months ago: one in leca with a weak hydroponic solution, one in regular potting mix. The leca one has put out 5 new leaves and the roots look thick and white, while the soil one has 2 sad leaves and I keep fighting fungus gnats. I water the leca one every 10 days or so and the soil one maybe every 7, but the soil stays wet way longer in my apartment near Portland. The difference seems to come down to airflow around the roots, not the nutrients. Am I wrong to think leca is just easier for people who overwater? What has your experience been with switching a plant from soil to leca, did it shock the plant at all?
