My spider plant finally made some babies after a year
I got a spider plant from a friend last year. It had brown tips at first, so I moved it to indirect light. I watered it only when the soil felt dry. After a few months, it grew new leaves. The other day, I saw tiny plantlets on long stems. It feels good to see it thrive. I'm excited to pot these babies. This small win makes all the care worth it.

Those long stems with babies always look so weird hanging down.

Slightly root-bound spider plants often make more babies.

But what if keeping them root bound just stresses them out and slows down their growth? I've had spider plants get all stunted and sad when they're too cramped. They put energy into just staying alive instead of making new plant babies. Giving them a bigger pot lets the roots spread out and actually boosts their health, which leads to more offshoots. Trying to stress them for more babies seems backwards, lmao. A comfortable plant will always do better in the long run.
