PSA: I was misting my calathea 3 times a day for a year and it was still crispy
I picked up a calathea orbifolia at a plant shop in Portland back in March 2024 and figured daily misting would keep the leaves happy. Then a woman at my local nursery asked what my humidity actually was, and my $12 hygrometer read 31 percent, way below what these things want. Misting only bumps it for a few minutes, so I bought a $40 humidifier and the brown edges finally quit spreading after about 3 weeks. Is a pebble tray worth trying too, or is that just as useless as the spray bottle?
