PSA: The botanical garden in Lincoln has a whole section of carnivorous plants now
I went last weekend and saw a pitcher plant that had actually caught a fly, which was super cool to see up close. Has anyone else visited and seen the new setup?

Seeing a pitcher plant catch a fly is wild, right? It reminds me of this weird time I found a Venus flytrap at a grocery store and it just looked so sad and dry. Makes you wonder who's in charge of watering those things.

Grocery store Venus flytraps are basically a death sentence, @luna_shah. I saw one last week with brown, crispy traps sitting in bone-dry moss. The produce guy just shrugged when I asked about it. Those plants need constant damp soil and actual sunlight, not a shelf next to the sad herbs.

Actually Venus flytraps need distilled or rain water, tap water kills them. The minerals build up and burn the roots.
