Rant: That 'rare' variegated monstera cutting I bought online for $85 was just painted

The seller used some kind of white paint or dye on the leaves, and it all washed off when I tried to gently clean it. Has anyone else been scammed by a plant listing that looked too good to be true?

Try rubbing the paint off gently with a soft cloth and some rubbing alcohol.
