Spent 3 hours trying to figure out why my new ficus was drooping, turns out it just hated being moved 2 feet away from the window

Moved it to the exact same spot in the living room but the lighting angle shifted just enough that the leaves went limp, has anyone else dealt with a plant getting this dramatic over a small change?

Plants can be more sensitive than people give them credit for. I had a fiddle leaf fig that did the same thing when I moved it maybe 18 inches to dust behind it. Took almost three weeks to perk back up. Usually it's about the light intensity changing more than the distance itself. If you can, try rotating the pot a quarter turn every few days so it adjusts gradually. Give it a little time and water it normally, it should sort itself out once it gets used to the new setup.

Moving plants is always trickier than you'd expect. That rotation tip is spot on, I learned that the hard way after killing a perfectly good Monstera by just shifting it a foot. Give it a week or so to settle down and don't overwater it while it's adjusting.
