Tbh, I see way too many people overwatering their new fiddle leaf figs
Honestly, I killed my first one by watering it every five days like the tag said. After the third one died, I started checking the soil with my finger, not a schedule. I only water mine when the top two inches of soil are completely dry, which is about every 12 days in my house. It's been thriving for eight months now since I changed. Ngl, I think the care tags on those plants are the real problem. Has anyone else had to ignore the instructions to keep a plant alive?

Yeah, I used to follow those tags too until my plants proved them wrong.

My plants also laugh at tags, @mark_price.

My fiddle leaf fig is thriving on a strict weekly watering schedule. Sometimes the general advice works if you watch for your specific plant's signals. I guess it depends on the grower and the environment.
