Told my gardening buddy his kombucha-fermented fertilizer was nonsense, then my tomatoes doubled in size.
Honestly, I laughed when he poured that smelly liquid on his soil at the community garden. But after trying it on my Roma tomatoes for two weeks, the leaves got darker and the fruit is way bigger than last season. Has anyone else seen actual results from fermented plant teas or was this just a fluke?

Did you notice any weird smell lingering in the soil after watering? I tried a fermented banana peel tea last month and my pepper plants went nuts, but my neighbors complained about the odor for days. I'm curious if your buddy's mix had a similar strong smell or if it was more subtle.

Three days, my guy. Three days my garage smelled like a barnyard that also had a compost pile inside it. I used a mix of banana peels, crushed eggshells, and leftover coffee grounds that I let sit in a bucket for two weeks. My wife threatened to make me sleep out there with the plants. But honestly the peppers were so massive and spicy I almost considered it worth it. Almost.

@juliashah yeah the smell was brutal for a few days after watering, like rotting fruit mixed with ammonia almost. Did you try burying the grounds deeper or mixing in some dry leaves to cut the stink?
