Was a skeptic about companion planting, now I'm not so sure again
Last spring I tried the whole marigolds with tomatoes thing in my backyard in Austin, and honestly the pest numbers did drop, like 40% fewer hornworms by July. But then my neighbor's plot without any companion plants did just as well, so I can't tell if it was the marigolds or just the weird dry heat we had. Has anyone else seen actual proof one way or another, or is this just gardening folklore that we all want to believe?

Changed my mind too, tried it last year and the difference was real.
