Update: I ate a pickled egg from a gas station jar in Tulsa and now I'm questioning every fancy brunch I've ever had
So last week I was driving through Tulsa on a work trip and stopped at a QuikTrip around 11pm for coffee. There was this big jar of pickled eggs sitting right by the register, and the cashier said they sell out every couple of days. I bought one for $1.79 mostly as a dare to myself. It was cold and vinegary and the yolk was this weird firm texture, but honestly? It tasted way better than the $16 deviled eggs I paid for at a brunch spot in Dallas last month. I keep thinking about how much stuff we skip just because it looks cheap or weird. Has anyone else tried the gas station pickled egg thing or am I the only one who got hooked?
