Broke my favorite coffee mug and it actually made me rethink my whole morning routine
So last Tuesday I dropped my big ceramic mug I've had for like 5 years, the one that held exactly 16 ounces and had a chip in the handle I got used to. It shattered all over the kitchen floor at 6am before I even had my first sip of coffee. I stood there staring at the pieces for a solid minute feeling super annoyed. Then I grabbed this tiny 9 ounce mug my sister gave me last Christmas that I never used because I thought it was too small. Turns out I drink slower with the smaller mug and actually taste the coffee more rather than just chugging it while rushing out the door. Who knew a broken mug would make me slow down? Has anyone else had something silly like that change a daily habit you didn't realize you needed to change?

Lost my 20oz thermos on a job and had to use those stupid little paper cups at the gas station for a week. Found out I was fine with less coffee, just needed to stop treating it like fuel.

That line about treating coffee like fuel instead of enjoying it really nails what most of us are doing wrong.

That thing about "tasting the coffee more rather than just chugging it" hits hard. I had the same realization when I switched from a 20oz travel mug to a normal cup - turns out I was just using caffeine as a delivery system instead of actually enjoying it.
