Hit 500 consecutive days of 10-minute breaks and it felt weird

I started timing my lunch breaks at my desk job in Austin last year, just to make sure I actually stepped away. Yesterday I hit day 500 of taking exactly 10 minutes to walk around the block, no phone, no work talk. Has anyone else tracked a small habit like that and been surprised by the number?

Whoa, 500 days straight? That's insane. I mean, if you think about it, that's over 83 hours of just walking laps around a block. I can barely remember to water my plant for 500 days, let alone track a break that precisely. You must have an iron will or something.

And that's the thing, right? We get SO caught up in the BIG stuff we forget the small daily wins actually build character. It's like people who can stick with a boring habit for years end up being the same ones who handle real crisis without flipping out. The gym guys who show up every day rain or shine, they're the ones who don't panic when their car breaks down or they lose their wallet.
