Hit 500 days straight of taking my lunch break outside the office

I somehow hit 500 days in a row of eating my lunch on this little bench behind our building. I didn't plan it or anything. It started when I was having a rough week and just needed fresh air. Then it became a habit. Yesterday I counted it up and realized it's been like a year and a half of sitting there rain or shine. I even have this old lady who walks her dog past me every day now we wave. 500 days is just a round number but it made me think about how small things stack up. Anyone else got a random work break streak they didn't notice until way later?

Haha yeah 500 days is wild but honestly that's some serious dedication. I can barely commit to my lunch routine for a week before I start eating at my desk again like a gremlin. The old lady waving is honestly the best part of this though, like congrats you unlocked a side character in your lunch break RPG. What happens when you hit day 600, does she start bringing you snacks?

The old lady probably runs the whole neighborhood gossip network, she's just playing the long game. 500 days is actually kind of impressive though, even if it sounds insane at first. I wonder if she times her walks to match his lunch schedule or if he just got lucky with her routine. Day 600 probably means she stops waving and just gives him a knowing nod, like they're in a secret club now. Honestly I'd be more worried about day 700 when she might start sitting at his bench uninvited. There's a fine line between a friendly wave and a lunch buddy you can't shake.

Did you see that article about the guy who waved at the same person for a whole year and it turned into a viral thing? 500 days is a lot but honestly the old lady probably just gets a kick out of having someone to wave at on her walks. Kind of makes you think about those little routines we all have, you know. She's probably already got a secret name for him like "bench guy" or something lol.
