Janitor at my office building called me out on my coffee habit

Last Tuesday I was grabbing my third cup from the break room machine around 2pm. The janitor, Larry, just shook his head and said 'you know that stuff will turn your stomach inside out by 50.' He showed me his thermos of hot water with lemon he's drank every day for 12 years. I laughed it off but then I looked up the caffeine content in those vending cups. 200mg per serving, and I was downing 600mg by mid afternoon. Has anyone else had a random coworker or stranger give you health advice that actually made you reconsider your routine?

Honestly the real issue is those vending cups are basically legal meth.

Are you saying that's why I've been mainlining those pick-me-up cups from the gas station? Honestly, they were the only thing keeping me awake during my afternoon slump, so maybe I should just accept I'm addicted. At least my dentist appreciates the business I bring in from all the sugar.
