Just hit my 10,000th coffee break this morning and it hit me hard
I keep a little tally on my desk calendar for fun, and today I realized I marked my 10,000th coffee break since I started working from home back in 2020. That's like 4 years of nearly daily 15 minute pauses, lol. It made me wonder how many of those breaks I actually took without scrolling my phone versus just sitting there thinking. Anyone else ever count something dumb like this and feel weird about it?

You gotta love seeing someone else find weird joy in counting stuff like that. My wife laughs at me because I log every single cup of coffee I make in a little notebook, been doing it since 2018. That moment when you hit a big round number like 10,000 really makes you stop and think about all those quiet little moments you usually just take for granted.

You're calling that dumb but I actually think tracking it is a good move. Those 15 minute breaks add up to over 1,000 hours of downtime, which is a solid chunk of time you could have used for something productive instead. Maybe counting it makes you realize how much time slips away without any real payoff.

Is it really worth getting worked up over 15 minutes though? I get the math but not every moment needs to be "productive," sometimes you just need a breather. @rileyb61, you're treating a coffee break like it's a full-time job you're missing out on.
