Update: jiffy lube guy actually talked me out of an oil change

I was sitting in the waiting room at the Jiffy Lube on Broadway in Denver around noon yesterday, ready to drop $80 on a full synthetic change. The tech came out and said my oil was still clean and I should just wait another 2,000 miles based on my driving habits. Saved me the money and the time, plus now I actually trust them more than the dealership.

Is it weird that I feel personally attacked by a Jiffy Lube guy telling me my oil is fine? lol Like, I walked in there with my wallet out ready to be a responsible adult and he basically told me to go home and stop wasting everyone's time. Now I'm just sitting here wondering what other bad decisions I've made that could have been avoided if someone just told me to calm down. I bet this guy saves people from buying snake oil and extended warranties on the side too.

Had a similar thing happen at Valvoline last year, tech said my filter was basically new and just topped off the oil for free. It's wild how much more business they get from me now just for being honest.
