Vent: Forgot my lunch at home and tried the vending machine in the warehouse break room.

I work at a warehouse in Phoenix and yesterday I got to my 10 AM break, opened my bag, and realized I left my lunch on the counter. That sandwich was the only thing I was looking forward to. So I walked over to the vending machine in the back break room, put in $3.50 for a prepackaged turkey sandwich, and after one bite I knew something was off. The bread was stale and the turkey had this weird slimy texture, I spit it out into the trash. Ended up just drinking black coffee for the next four hours to kill the hunger. My stomach growled so loud during a forklift meeting that the supervisor asked if I was okay. Has anyone else had a vending machine meal go that bad and just powered through the rest of your shift?

Spit it out into the trash" - that's brutal. A $3.50 slime sandwich and then four hours of black coffee sounds like a punishment from a bad sitcom.

Buddy of mine tried that slime sandwich once. He took one bite, made a face like he'd licked a battery, and just held it in his mouth for a solid ten seconds before running to the bathroom. Came back pale and swore off gas station food forever. That black coffee marathon just sounds like a slow way to torture yourself.
