Warning: my "cheap" meal prep containers leaked soup all over my work bag

Last Monday I grabbed a 12 pack of those dollar store plastic containers thinking I was saving cash. Big mistake. By noon, my chicken noodle soup had leaked through every seam and soaked my laptop sleeve and paperwork. The bag still smells like broth no matter how many times I wash it. Cost me $8 for the containers plus a new backpack at $35 because the smell won't come out. Anyone else get burned by bargain food storage? What brand actually holds up for liquid stuff?
