Wasted $60 on a 'magnetic' phone mount that wouldn't stick to my vent

I was totally on the other side of this honestly... used to think any mount would work fine if you just pushed it on there hard enough. Took me buying three different ones before I realized they're not all the same.

Three different mounts is rough, I went through two myself before finding the right one. The thing about those magnetic vent mounts is most of them rely on the friction of the vent blades themselves, so if your vents are those thin plastic ones that move around, they're basically useless. You need a mount that has a clip that actually grabs onto the vent blade, not just sits on the surface. That $60 one probably had a weak magnet too if it wouldn't stay put.
