Am I the only one who inspects scaffold bases every morning?

A shifted base plate is a hidden danger on site.

Check out the chalk idea from susan130. Do crews really know WHY a moved line is a BIG deal? It FREAKS me out because a small shift can hide real danger. I've watched people on sites just give a quick look and call it good. What happens after someone spots a problem? Is there a set way to fix it? This is CORE safety work, and it deserves more than a passing thought.

On my last site we had a near-miss because a base plate settled overnight. Now I chalk a line around every one during setup so a shift is obvious. It adds two minutes to the morning check and saves a lot of worry.

Only takes a near-miss to get folks sketching on the concrete. Two minutes with chalk saves a ton of trouble later. Kind of silly how simple fixes get overlooked until something almost happens.
