My daughter's drawing of a brick pattern taught me something new
I used to think bricklaying was all about following plans exactly. My little girl showed me a picture she drew with fun, zigzag lines. I tried her idea on a small garden border last week. The homeowner said it looked amazing. Now I believe getting family input can spark better work.

Fresh eyes see the simple fixes we miss...

Got schooled by my nephew last week on a simple cabinet fix. I was overcomplicating it with levels and squares while he just pointed at the obvious wobble. Sometimes it takes a kid to show you how much you overthink things.

Disagree on that one. The wobble was obvious, but your level showed WHY it was wobbling so you could actually fix it right. Kids see the problem, but tools solve the cause. That quick fix might just fail again next month.
