Saw a mason at the county fair fix a brick wall with nothing but a trowel and a level, no spacers or lasers

He was working on that old exhibition hall by the livestock barns and had that wall dead straight after just three taps of the handle, so now I've started leaving my fancy tools in the truck on smaller jobs to see if I can match that kind of feel.

Kept trying to fake it for years with vintage gear and filters but there's something about the way someone who actually learned it the hard way moves through the process that just comes through no matter what you do.
