That cheap trowel I swore by finally let me down on a job in Raleigh
Used a $12 Marshalltown knockoff for 3 years and it worked fine until I tried buttering brick in 95 degree heat last Thursday and the handle just twisted clean off. Anyone else find certain tools just give up when conditions get rough?

Heard a guy say plastic handles are the first thing to go in that kind of heat.

Did you see that post going around about how the sun basically melts cheap plastic handles if you leave them out too long? @williamm82 I remember reading something from a guy down in Arizona who said his shovel handle turned into a limp noodle after an afternoon in 115 degree weather. Makes you wonder why they don't just use metal for everything these days.

Tossed an old plastic rake in my trunk last summer and forgot about it for a couple days. Thing came out looking like a limp spaghetti noodle, completely useless. Learned my lesson the hard way, now I just keep everything metal or wood.
