Chatted with the old guy at the flea market about my coffee grinder problem
He said I was wasting money on those $30 electric grinders because the burrs wear out in 6 months, and then he showed me his hand crank one from the 1970s that still works perfect. Has anyone else switched back to manual gear for stuff that's supposed to last longer?

Broke three wrists cranking a pepper mill last week, so maybe stick with electric.

and the weird thing is, i once cracked my phone screen trying to twist open a jar of pickles. completely different kind of motion but same vibe of "this kitchen tool is out to get me." i feel like manual pepper mills are specifically designed to make you question your life choices. like who looked at a spice grinder and thought "yeah let's make this thing require the grip strength of a olympic climber." honestly at this point i just buy pre-ground pepper and call it a day. saves my wrists and my dignity.

Pre-ground is surrender. Everything in life is testing our grip strength now.
