Finally gave cheap store brand trash bags a shot
After years of buying the name brand ones at $15 a box, I grabbed a $4 box from the grocery store on a whim, expecting a mess. They actually held up fine through a full kitchen renovation cleanup and then some, so maybe I've been wasting money this whole time. Anyone else find a random store brand that surprised them?

Guess I gotta be the odd one out here. I tried the same thing with a store brand a while back and ended up with trash juice all over my kitchen floor. Tore right at the seam when I lifted it out of the can. Maybe you got lucky with a good batch or your rennovation debris was lighter than mine. In my experience you really do get what you pay for with garbage bags, especially if you're hauling heavy wet stuff.

Ugh, "trash juice all over my kitchen floor" is honestly my worst nightmare, I feel for you so hard on that one. It's so frustrating when you think you're being smart and saving money, and then it just backfires in the grossest way possible. I think you're totally right that it might just be the luck of the batch or maybe my debris was a lot dryer. It really is a gamble with store brands, and sometimes you just gotta pay up for the peace of mind with the name brand stuff.
