Found out my no-name blender is secretly a workhorse at 3x the price

Bought a $29 knockoff blender from a discount store in Columbus to hold me over, figured I'd upgrade in a month. Read a forum deep dive that showed the motor is the same OEM used in a $120 model, just with a different housing. Anyone else ever luck into a rando brand that beats the advertised name brands?

How do you even find out that kind of info? Like, did you pull the motor out and match the serial number, or is there some secret forum for appliance nerds I need to join?
