Heard two moms arguing at the park about thrift store vs Target clothes for kids

One said thrift saves money but the other clapped back that Target clothes last longer per wash, especially for boys who play rough. Which side do you land on when you're trying to stretch a clothing budget?

Ugh, I FEEL this debate so hard! I've been on both sides of it honestly. My older son is a total wrecking ball so Target jeans last maybe a month before the knees blow out, I swear. But thrift stores are lifesavers for basic tees and hoodies where you can find like new stuff for a few bucks. I end up doing a mix because I can't stomach paying full price for something that's gonna get destroyed in a week.

Did you ever try hitting up garage sales in nicer neighborhoods for barely worn boys clothes that cost less than both?

Yeah totally feel you on that @emmag22. My youngest is exactly the same way, I swear he goes through clothes like they're made of paper. I've given up on anything brand new for his everyday stuff because it just gets wrecked in like two weeks flat. But I've also noticed that even the cheap Target stuff doesn't hold up as well as it used to, the knees rip out way faster than a few years ago. So I end up doing a mix too, mostly hitting up thrift stores for the basics and then grabbing a few nicer things on clearance when I can find them. It's a constant battle trying to keep them dressed without going broke.
